Original Apple iPod Headphones
Exercising, sitting on a bus/train, walking to class or down the street, what ever you’re doing it is common to see a white thing sticking out of someone’s ear followed by the familiar white wires running down their torso and into a pocket. The classic Apple Original iPod Earphones are a frequent site to see.
This classic set of earphones may seem easy on the eyes but fail at delivering quality sound. The solid white color with a band of grey make them known as Apple’s earphones, that come standard with any iPod, but do you want them? Though appealing to the eye because they are not huge in size, bulky or loud in a color/pattern sense, the quality of music delivered to our ears is not great.
Very simple to use, placing the ear buds into your ears and the jack into your iPod, this is not the problem. The problem is in the shape and design of the ear bud. Because the ear bud sits only on the edge of the inner ear the noise reduction is not very well, they tend to fall out, and I tend to have to raise the volume higher on my iPod to hear a song if I am in public. Headphones that completely cover your ear are a lot more pro efficient in noise reduction. The shape of the ear bud does not necessarily fit snuggly into the ear because of its circle shape and therefore easily falls out. Also that this ear bud is not placed directly inside the ear means the volume of what you are listening to is raised to hear the song, and this is not healthy.
The cheap material of these headphones means they are easily broken and are not durable. The wires around the jack and the connecting ones to the ear bud always seem to break through the covering white tube, either making the headphones not work, or only one workings, or you have to hold the wire a certain way to hear the music. Also the actually speaker part of this ear bud is not made of strong enough material. The speaker tends to get bent or even popped out. Personally I keep my iPod in my knapsack unprotected and the weight of my books must have crushed my head phones because the speaker popped out exposing the wires. Should IPod’s be kept in like a protective box or something?
Overall these are not first choice head phones even though they are the only choice that come with the purchase of an iPod. Even though they are only around 20 dollars, save the money and wait to buy headphones that will last, and actually allow you to hear your music properly.

I would say this is a quite good review. Lots of focus on the design of the headphones, and you were able to dig deeper into things -like the shape (also, the lack of a proper seal means it is impossible to get decent bass). Perhaps a little more emphasis on the actual experience of using the headphones, as I’m not sure if the durability is as equally important as the experience. Also, please cite the source of the image.

Good review, strong opinion and decent use of examples but maybe make it a little more of your own experience, not just generalizing

I think the personal relationship comes out when we learn the earbuds were physically crushed by Heartney’s Big Book of Ideas. We’ve all had to use these things at one point or another; these problems are common.

Overall, a strong review. I’m wondering what you would recommend as an alternative though – would you suggest a rubberized ear bud or a set of headphones?

CHI Ceramic Hair Straightener
With thick and curly hair such as mine the CHI ceramic hair straightener is my best friend. It is light, sleek, simple in design and portable.
With one button to turn it on, that is labeled clearly on/off, and a red light indicating it is on, using this product is easy. Unlike other straighteners there is no dial for heat control, it is already preset, which I prefer because it is less hassle. The heat it supplies is sufficient for straightening all hair types because the ceramic plates allow the straightener to reach higher temperatures. With only going over stands of hair once or twice at a medium speed, the hair is pretty much straight. You can also learn how to curl your hair with this straightener, but I find it difficult to do so because only the ceramic plates are hot, so the hair on the black part does not get heat and therefore does not curl properly.
I also personally find that with this straightener it takes a while to do my hair because the plates are only an inch flat, and I have thick, curly hair. I can only straighten small strands of hair at a time. Having so much hair makes straightening a time-consuming process. But it does produce nice results and I am always happy with the outcome of my hair as it looks shiny and frizz free.
For around 100 dollars you get a straightener that will last you many years. I have had mine for a little over 6 years now and it still works like new. Even though the CHI might be a little pricey it is worth the cost. It is durable, excellent quality because of its ceramic plates and sleek and simple in design.

Great. Well focused. I like that you simply covered design and how it works for you. And also, you were able to give both positive and negative points. Just cite the image.

Lovely review, thorough and to the point, and also very good that you focused on points from your own experience

It’s concise and balanced, though I must admit to some ignorance on the topic of hair straightening.
I appreciate this review.
